Within Varleni culture the Shaman is one of the highest positions one can attain, only by proving themselves competant in magics are they then able to assume the role of Shaman. Not all Varleni are gifted in magic and it is unknown why only certain individuals possess the ability of foresight. When they attain the title of Shaman they are gifted a chariot from the Sovereigns to help them manage their outposts. Two Snapjaws are then chosen by the Shaman to be his escorts.
