Little Tikes Dinosaur Pool/Sandbox plug
thingiverse
We've got an old Little Tikes dinosaur pool/sandbox that we hang onto for the animals. The plug went missing a long time ago, and using a sink stopper would only lead to trouble - the animals would either knock it out or take it as a toy. I designed and printed this solution myself, and it works pretty well. A 27x28x2mm EVA gasket around the stopper is a good touch. The coupler could probably be siliconed or glued in place, but for my needs, it's not necessary. This design was made using OpenSCAD threads library by dan_kirshner found at http://dkprojects.net/openscad-threads/ or https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1938150. The SCAD file is included here, but you'll need to download and set up the threads library separately. To put it together, attach one half of the coupler - the one with the larger hole - under the hole, then place the other half over the hole and screw them together. This will clamp the plastic in place between them.
