You need a beacon of hope when darkness falls. Now you can craft your own radiant light source. And if you add some components, it will illuminate even brighter! The lantern design is substantial in size. To print it, you'll have to scale down the model. I printed the lantern at 30% and the result still holds up. To create a glowing effect, print the glass part with transparent PLA or PETG filament. For the light source, gather: 1x LED 5mm 1x matching resistor for the LED 1x 1.5F, 5.5V goldcap capacitor 1x USB micro B port The resistor needs to be soldered in series with the LED. Solder the USB port, the capacitor, and the LED in parallel. Now you can recharge your lamp using power from your USB port. A single 10-second charge will keep the LED shining for at least 10 minutes.
