cults3d
The world's tiniest penguin, known as the little blue penguin or little penguin, stands at just over 25 centimeters tall and weighs roughly one kilogram. Most of their time is spent in the ocean, actively hunting small fish, crustaceans, and squid. Auckland Museum collection houses an extensive archive of these remarkable birds. Eudyptula minor, first described by J.R. Forster in 1781, belongs to a specific order - Sphenisciformes - within the family Spheniscidae. In New Zealand, this species is native but faces a declining conservation status. For more comprehensive information about these unique birds, visit NZ Birds Online.
