Litophane Lampshade
thingiverse
Designed as a direct replacement for a basic lampshade. I'm currently utilizing it in my personal bedroom space. It looks most striking when paired with a customizable colored lamp, as this allows for the creation of very distinct ambiance settings. To accommodate the lampshade, I designed two separate holders, one of which provides an extremely snug fit while the other is slightly more prone to slipping off. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend utilizing Cura's experimental fuzzy skin feature in order to enhance grip between the holder and the lampshade. Ultimately, it's up to you to decide which holder works best for your specific needs; alternatively, you can also choose to create one yourself. For creating a Litophane, I would highly recommend visiting the website at 3dp.rocks/lithophane/. This platform allows users to upload any desired image and generate a corresponding 3D printable file. My own prints were completed using 100% infill settings, along with a raft and no support structures. Up until this point, I have only experimented with white PLA filament; however, I am unsure if other materials will yield similar results. If you decide to try an alternative material, please feel free to share your findings with me!
