https://LithophaneMaker.com I've created a free online tool that lets you craft lithophanes featuring customizable frames with adjustable dimensions and the ability to curve them any way you like. This saves you from having to design a frame or support and merge it with a curved lithophane in Meshmixer. If you see a way to make this tool better, please email me at support@lithophanemaker.com. The size of the curved lithophane is derived from the lithophane height and the aspect ratio of your photo. The angle you select determines the angle shown in the picture that corresponds to the arc of the lithophane's transparent surface. By looking at the picture and adjusting the Angle with the tool, it should become apparent. The radius of the lithophane is calculated based on the aspect ratio of your photo, the lithophane height you choose, and the angle you select. Together, these variables set the main dimensions of the lithophane. The frame's size is controlled by the base height, base width, and ledge angle parameters. To clarify what the schematic shows: on the left, it depicts what you would see if you were looking directly down onto the lithophane from a plane cut halfway up the lithophane, and on the right, it shows the lithophane from a plane cut in the xz plane. The ledge angle should be set to whatever angle you're comfortable printing for an overhang because the ledge angle will be an overhang where the top frame meets the lithophane image. The maximum thickness and minimum thickness refer to the maximum and minimum thicknesses of the lithophane image shell. You can use these values to adjust the lithophane's brightness and contrast. Once you've selected your settings, simply upload your photo, and an STL file will be generated that is ready for slicing and 3D printing without needing to merge multiple 3D models together.
