Lithophane Picture Light Frame
thingiverse
Human: I built a custom Lithophane LED picture frame specifically designed to showcase a 96mm x 128mm x 4mm portrait in exquisite detail. The portrait itself was crafted from white ABS plastic at a layer thickness of .06mm, while the frame was constructed from thicker black ABS layers at .25mm. To complete this project, I needed a few key materials, including an LED light string, a 9-volt battery connector, a boat rocker switch, a 9-volt battery, four .5-inch screws, and a piece of mirror glass measuring 4 inches by 5.125 inches by .125 inch thick. I created the Lithophane portrait using the online tool available at http://3dp.rocks/lithophane/. UPDATE: I've since made significant improvements to the design with my V2 frame and battery lid, which relocates the switch hole to one side of the frame and recesses it for a sleeker look. This new design also allows me to orient the battery in a way that enables thicker walls around it, making the overall construction more robust. Additionally, I've enlarged the battery compartment to better accommodate the battery and its associated plug.
