Lithophane Night Light
thingiverse
I had a tough time tracking down a night light sized lithophane lantern, but I really wanted to create one for my Mom's Birthday, so I made my own from scratch. This is actually my first CAD project, so bear with me. This design holds four lithophanes in total. The one at the back seems somewhat pointless since it just faces the wall, but you can always swap them out if you get bored of one or the other. The base is designed to attach to a scentsy I had lying around. I've included a picture of it - they're probably all pretty similar. You'll want to use a really low-wattage bulb for this project, preferably an LED if you don't want to melt your print to death. Don't use the one that came with the scentsy. I used a specific product from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06VTGDD33/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). I do plan to create another base that's compatible with a popular night light base from Amazon, so you won't have to hunt down this specific lighting fixture. I'll update once I've done that. To create the lithophanes, I used 3DPRocks (http://3dp.rocks/lithophane/). You can find the settings in the images included with this project. Make sure to use the Photoshop template so your image fits perfectly within the lantern's dimensions - W: 311px H: 370px.
