Lithophane - minus the background?

I created a lithophane using http://3dp.rocks/lithophane/. Now, I'm trying to extract the background from it. When I uploaded my image into http://3dp.rocks/lithophane/, it automatically added one, even though mine was originally without any background. Does anyone know how to remove this white space background from an STL model? I think a cut-out look would be really cool for lithophanes.
