Lithophane Frame (4x)
thingiverse

Overview
This frame holds up to four lithophanes. To get the best results, hang it in front of a window. The special corner piece has an eyelet for hanging.
Components
To build the frame together, you will need these parts: - 2x corner top - 2x corner - 2x top-bottom - 2x right-left (printing with tree support works best) - 1x middle (tree support is a must for good results) - 2x middle_half (more tree support is key to success)
Lithophanes
It's crucial to create the lithophanes as described below so they fit perfectly into the frame. I've uploaded a sample picture with an example lithophane. The source images for lithophanes should have an aspect ratio of 4:3 and resolutions like (1024*n)x(768*n), such as 1024x768, 2048x1536, or 3072x2304. XNView is a great tool to resize pictures efficiently. With the help of the online tool "Image to Lithophane" at http://3dp.rocks, you can create STL files for the lithophanes. To ensure they fit into the picture frame, use these settings: Model Settings: Maximum Size (MM): 80 Thickness (MM): 3 Border (MM): 3 Thinnest Layer (MM): 0.8 Vectors Per Pixel: 4 Base/Stand Depth: 0 Curve: 0 Image Settings: Positive Image (Switch to the left side) For all other settings, use the default options.
