Lithophane Calibrator - Parametric Square
thingiverse
Thomas Pmaxuw's Lithophane Filament Calibrator is an elegant idea, combined with a straightforward design. He created a simple wedge design to achieve this goal. The concept involves printing various thicknesses of a material to determine what range will work for creating a Lithophane. This is a simple yet impressive concept and the model is well executed. That being said, I couldn't help but experiment. My first remix, Lithophane Calibrator - Parametric Grid (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4139947), was a grid with varying thicknesses of cells. This model features a square with ten larger columns of different thicknesses. I have created STLs for the following ranges of thickness: - 0.5mm to 1.4mm - 1mm to 1.9mm - 2mm to 2.9mm - 3mm to 3.9mm - 4mm to 4.9mm - 5mm to 5.9mm - 6mm to 6.9mm - 7mm to 7.9mm - 8mm to 8.9mm - 9mm to 9.9mm The largest model you can create would be 9mm to 9.9mm. Like the first remix, this model was designed in OpenSCAD. While the uploaded models can be useful, if you have any skill with OpenSCAD or feel comfortable using the Customizer, you can modify many of the parameters of this model to suit your needs. Please see the information below for how to build and configure this model. Please post pictures if you print this model. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you to Thomas Pmaxuw for the original concept that inspired this model.
