Lithophane brace

Lithophane brace

I experienced issues while printing flat lithophanes as they would wobble severely with increasing height due to the printer's movement, resulting in distorted images. To overcome this problem, I designed simple supports that can be applied at specific heights (20 and 40mm) for prints of 3mm thickness. These supports have not been integrated into the gcode files, which was never their intended purpose. Instead, I wait until the print reaches the designated height, slow down the printer to 10%, carefully slide the support over an edge, then speed it back up. Some users may choose to superglue these supports to the raft on which lithophanes are printed; however, this is not essential as others might not use rafts. I recommend warming up the supports on the heated bed before applying them and suggest starting with the smallest one first. Testing its fit on a completed lithophane (if available) can help determine if slight scaling adjustments are needed. Slight physical stretching of the support may also facilitate easier application while maintaining rigidity to secure the print. For larger supports, I can easily modify the model files and upload them upon request; simply leave a comment indicating such a need, and I will do my best to respond promptly.
