Lithophane box

<p>Parametric cadquery design to allow scaling for different sized lithophanes. The layout details are determined by a few numbers only, easily recalculated to make changes.</p><p>Simple box with inner platform to house a circular downlighter LED, or alternatively LED strips. The box has a front part to separate the artwork from the LEDs and a rear part for LED housing, transformer, or batteries. The inner platform rests on posts on the side of the box. The artwork rests inside a cutout in the front. Air vents make provision to let hot air out the box to prevent overheating.</p><p>A small hole is made at the back for electricity wiring.</p><p>No provision for screws, just glue/silicon together.</p><p>I experimented with a diffuser between the LED and artwork but this is yet unsuccessful - more work required.</p><p>Prints with no supports, but flip the inner part STL after exporting from cadquery.</p><p>Print in any material.</p><p>If printed in a translucent material the box itself also radiates light, can be avoided by printing the box in dark colour or adding opaque internal layers such as thick paper or aluminum foil to the inside of the box.</p><p>The boxes in the pictures are printed with Artillery Marble PLA, stunning material that prints well and looks amazing.&nbsp;</p>
