Feel free to contribute to my work by tipping and providing coffee for those late nights! I modified the base and top of the object originally designed to fit 90mm by 120mm pictures I printed, which were exactly that size - 90mm x 120mm. X is 120 mm, Y is 90 mm, and max Z is 3 mm. The top picture was 120mm by 120mm, with a max z of still just 3mm. All I did for printing pictures as lithopanes was ensure I had plenty of contrast in the pictures, preferably made in black and white and sharpened with an editor as much as possible, then imported directly into cura. I chose the option that darker is higher and clicked okay, but only once it was open in cura did I do a resize of the item so that x and y were correct. I found that I didn't usually have to edit z as it did it automatically. Also, I modified the base to make it much simpler to add a small project lamp socket and LED bulb. I used this clip from a project light on amazon. I also used an LED bulb from GE Lighting, which is a 4-Watt (40-Watt Replacement) 300 Lumens Soft White Candelabra Base LED Light Bulb. I added some custom cable management so that you could have a small mini zip tie to hold the cord in place. This was printed with supports and came out great. I did what the original creator did in design elements - I printed, spray painted in black matte, then dry brushed gold to highlight details. It came out as an incredible gift. Only thing I forgot to mention is that it took a very long time to print. One of my longest prints was the base, which took 27 hours. The top took about 9 hours, and each lithopane took around 3-4 hours. Granted, I did slow down the speed to make sure the detail was just right. But once done, this came out incredible! I apologize for any issues with the base not being completely flat - that was due to the insert of the lamp part holder and required supports on bottom to be printed. I added a new file with a flat bottom so that way supports won't print on the bottom. You still need supports enabled though. Let me know if you have any questions or issues.
