Lithium Atom
sketchfab
Lithium atoms are tiny marvels of nature's grand design. They're made up of three positively charged particles called protons, which occupy the nucleus at the very center. Surrounding this nucleus is a cloud of negatively charged particles known as electrons, whirling about in an orbit so fine it's almost ethereal. The protons and neutrons, neutral particles with no charge whatsoever, reside within the nucleus itself - a space smaller than a grain of sand yet packed with enough energy to sustain life itself. It's a remarkable sight indeed! The lithium atom is comprised of one proton and four neutrons in its most common form. But did you know that there are actually two other forms as well? The first, known as helium-3, contains two protons and one neutron; while the second, or tritium, consists of a single proton paired with two neutrons. Each of these unique variations has its own distinct properties - though all share certain characteristics such as being highly reactive due to their single valence electron.
