You can still use your existing Lite Brite pegs, or pick some up on your favorite online site to create nostalgic designs. The stand holds 102 pegs, perfect for simple designs without taking over too much desk space. You can even use small LED "tea lights" or other illumination sources. You can also use small flashlights or other compact light sources that fit within the 40 mm x 60 mm tea light holder.
