Lipo Guards
thingiverse
LIPO Guards I crafted exclusively for the three models I frequently use, Dinogy Graphene, Dinogy 4S 1350, Tattuu 4S 1550. These guards are designed specifically for LIPOs mounted on the underside of the frame. The two X's at the bottom of the guards serve a dual purpose: they reduce weight and provide additional support. A narrow gap between these X's allows the battery strap to secure itself with greater ease, ensuring it doesn't come loose if it doesn't wrap all the way around. I deliberately omitted adding open spaces on the sides or front of the guards to minimize complexity in the print tuning for TPU and enable fast printing using Simplify3D settings. To achieve this speed, I recommend utilizing structure support and an ooze shield during the printing process. In designing the LIPO Guards, I opted not to include tilt mechanisms. Instead, I created a compact stand that can be used to stabilize the quad by leveraging the mounted LIPO. This innovative solution allows for effortless adjustments of the quad's tilt before takeoff without adding any unnecessary weight to the guards once airborne. For drone racing enthusiasts, I've customized these guard/slide plates to accommodate FPV Drone Transponders suitable for X-frame style quads. No longer will you need to rely on zip ties and duct tape; these custom guards are available for purchase exclusively through my Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/myvwsbiz/posts/1011824028962668. 02/15/2018 - I've updated the design with optimized features.
