Lip Balm Pocket Guard

I got tired of always taking the cap off my chapstick and discovering that the contents had been forced into the cap, inadvertently shortening the effective life of a tube. After applying this to your tube of lip balm, operate it by removing the cap, pressing a fingertip against the textured bottom disk, and twisting. While I was at it I gave it a hexagonal shape to prevent the tube from rolling away.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Ultimaker

Printer:

Ultimaker 2

Rafts:

Doesn't Matter

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.1 (doesn't matter)

Infill:

25% (doesn't matter)

Notes:

After printing, clean out the tube to ensure it is relatively smooth, and use a hobby knife to break the bottom inside edges, as well as any exterior corners. You may have to twist and force the guard over your lip balm tube, and if it is too tight you might need to scale it up slightly or peel the label off. Mine is pressed on quite tightly and doesn't need any glue. Press it down flush on a table. The small bumpy disk is then hot-glued into the concave opening in the knob.

Category: Household Supplies
