We purchased a Lionel train set to operate beneath the Christmas tree, with the intention of allowing our grandkids to enjoy it for several years. The set functions flawlessly except when turning off power is necessary to place the trains back on the track. A piece of track with a female connector came included in the purchase, designed for the power supply plug to fit into snugly. However, this can make removing the plug quite difficult. To solve this problem, I printed an enclosure housing a switch that makes it effortless to turn the power off or on. Now, both our grandkids and grandma can easily activate or deactivate the power. I utilized: - A 2.5mm x 5.5mm female chassis mount power jack (Philmore #248, available at Frys for $1.49) - A 2.5mm x 5.5mm male power plug (Philmore #250, available at Frys for $1.49) - An SPST rocker switch (FBApayipa 6A/250V 10A/125V 2 Solder Lug SPST On/Off Mini Boat Rocker Switch, available at Amazon for $0.50)
