Lion of Miletus
myminifactory
Miletus (Turkey), the Lion Tomb at Kazartepe Marble, 560 - 550 BC. In Miletus, lions symbolize power and nobility, often appearing in votive offerings and tomb sculptures throughout the city's history. Early Milesian sculptors drew inspiration from Egyptian art when depicting lions, resulting in unique and expressive designs. Two exceptional Berlin lions stand guard at the tomb of a local noble family, their intricate details preserved for centuries. This object is part of the Scan The World initiative, a non-profit project launched by MyMiniFactory to create a digital archive of 3D printable sculptures and landmarks from around the world.
