Mooney Memorial Fountain is a heritage-listed monument situated at 118 Eagle Street, Brisbane City, within the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It was designed by William Holloway Chambers and constructed between 1878 and 1880 by William Webster's team. This water feature is also widely known as the Eagle Street Fountain. On October 21st, 1992, it was officially added to the Queensland Heritage Register. This fountain was erected between 1878 and 1880 at a cost of £627 under the direction of City Engineer William Holloway Chambers. It was built as part of a larger effort to improve the visual appeal of that area of the city. Funding for the project came from the Brisbane Municipal Council and public donations. The fountain gained popularity with locals due to its connection to James Mooney, a volunteer fireman who lost his life while battling a fire in Queen Street in March 1877. Donations made at the time towards a memorial for Mooney led to the popular name of the fountain becoming known as the Mooney Memorial Fountain.
