The 3D model of this lioness at California Academy of Sciences was created using an SLR camera and 123D Catch PC app from photographs. As the lion was behind glass, Meshmixer was utilized to mirror the good side to its missing counterpart. For optimum results, ensure the entire object is in focus, shoot sequentially with minimal depth of field, and capture a 360-degree loop of 20-30 photos with the subject in full frame at same zoom. Additionally, if possible, shoot from a top-down angle. The object should remain stationary during photography, preferably placed on a newspaper or similar background. After capturing photos, do not upload resolutions higher than 3-6 megapixels. When photographing people, advise them to focus on a distant target with their eyes and keep their mouth closed to avoid muscle movement.
