The Albani lion is a stunning 1st-century Roman green basalt statue of a lion with a yellow marble sphere cleverly positioned under one paw in the Albani Collection within the Denon Wing of the world-renowned Louvre Museum (inventory number Ma 1355) in the City of Light, Paris, France. This majestic piece is possibly a replica of an earlier Greek bronze masterpiece that has long been lost to the sands of time.
