In Athens' Olympieion, archaeologists unearthed this Parian marble group featuring a lion and bull, originating from a pediment. A lion on the right seizes a bull by its back, while to the left, a plaster cast of another lion grabbing the bull's head can be seen in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York (Accession number 42.11.35), a piece carved around 500 BC.
