Individuals are human beings that belong to a group of primates known as hominins. Hominins are mammals belonging to the family Hominidae and are considered part of the order Primates, which also includes lemurs and lorises. Humans are characterized by their ability to walk upright on two legs, something that sets them apart from other primates. This ability is made possible by a number of physical adaptations, including a strong back, powerful leg muscles, and a unique pelvis shape.
