The term Link Trainer, also known as "Blue Box" and "Pilot Trainer," is frequently used to refer to a series of flight simulators produced between the early 1930s and early 1950s by Link Aviation Devices, founded and led by Ed Link. His family's business in Binghamton, New York pioneered technology he developed in 1929. During World War II, these trainers were crucial pilot training tools for almost every combatant nation. This model has been created using the GeoCV scanner. The Museum of Flight in Seattle, Washington, USA is credited with providing the image.
