A life-size replica of Link's Sheikah Slate from the Breath of the Wild Switch game. I created this last year as a custom cosplay piece, and I'm really proud of how it turned out! To ensure its durability, I printed with a 15% infill density, which made it surprisingly sturdy for carrying around all day. When printing, I strongly recommend using a raft or brim to prevent the slate from warping on the bottom. Since it's not a flat surface, this will help keep everything stable during the print job. To accommodate my specific needs, I resized the design in a slicer before sending it to the 3D printer. This was necessary because the original model was quite long, and printing it straight out would have been impractical. For designing the Sheikah Slate from scratch, I used Fusion 360. After scouring online for existing designs that matched my cosplay requirements, I decided to create one myself. It took some time and effort, but the end result was worth it – a highly detailed and accurate replica of Link's trusty device.
