Liner Lock Pocket Knife Ornament

I originally designed this as a fun little project, and now I'm sure it would look great hanging on a festive holiday tree. It could even be used to open gifts (if you print the serrated version). The goal of this project was to create a pocket knife that can be 3D printed, utilizing a liner lock mechanism. What a cool proof of concept! Knife blade is a drop point design with a thumb stud included on the blade. The cutting surface is roughly 2.7 inches long. The knife can easily be opened and closed with one hand. To unlock the liner lock, simply push it to the side with your thumb, just like on a real knife with a liner lock! For more information on liner locks, check out this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liner_lock I have printed this design and it works perfectly. The lockup is solid and reliable. Future versions of this project may include a lanyard clip as well as different blade profiles (tanto, clip point, straight back). The knife pictured is an older version that lacks an extra washer and some refinement. However, your knife should print fine. Here are the parts you'll need to assemble: * Blade * Front Scale * Back Scale * Washer * Front Pin * Liner For more details on assembly, read the instructions carefully. Please note that this is intended for use as a discussion piece or an ornament on your holiday tree. I am not responsible for any malicious actions you may take with this knife. Change Log: v1: Initial release v2: - Rear pin added (it's no longer integrated into the back scale) - Blade now has washer built in - Small liner tweak v3: - Added ornament hook for holiday tree decoration
