I'm not responsible for any damage that might occur, nor do I guarantee that this will function correctly. INTRODUCTION This Thing is designed to upgrade the gantry of a 3D-Printer with linear guide rails and CoreXY mechanics. The 3D-Printer needs to be based on 20mm aluminum extrusion profiles. This Thing does not affect the z-axis in any way. The Bill of Materials includes all required parts, some of which you can probably reuse from the base printer. I purchased linearguide Rails on eBay to upgrade my cheap Chinese 3D-printer kit. Unfortunately, I got the rails from different manufacturers. As a result, the carriages differ from Hiwin and PMI, so you'll need to edit a few pieces if you go all Hiwin or all PMI. Yes, I know that 15mm rails are overkill. I decided to place the Y-rails underneath the aluminum profiles. BOM See attached file for detailed list of required parts. SAFETY ADVISE I recommend printing all parts except the corner brackets with ABS, ASA, or any other filament that has some temperature resistance. The corner bracket (with integrated idler plates and motor mounts) can be printed with ABS as well, but PLA would provide extra stiffness to your belt tension. Also, use a bright color, like white. Especially the parts close to your hotend can be damaged from heat over time. A bright color ensures that you can easily recognize burnt parts before something ignites. If printed in black, you will have a hard time finding scorched spots. Before assembly, make sure to cover any glass bed surface with cardboard. Screws and tools will obey gravity and probably damage or break the bed surface.
