The unit is designed specifically for the 8020 aluminum extrusion size 1010 (1"), utilizing three out of its four sides, while leaving one T-slot open to accommodate attachment to other components. It glides smoothly with balanced loads and even more so when lightly oiled, but binding occurs with smaller side forces applied. This linear slide carriage is not intended for heavy-duty use in applications such as 3D printing or CNC machinery; it will likely wear out under prolonged usage. Two 1/4" screw holes are provided to attach the unit directly to a perpendicular extrusion or securely fasten it to a standard camera tripod mount.
