1 inch aluminum square tubing, 608ZZ bearings and 5/16" 16TPI threaded rod are used in The Runner, which features a 5/16 inch threaded insert combined with a nut and spring to minimize backlash. Print Settings include: Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer Model: MakerBot Replicator 2 Rafts: None Supports: None Resolution: .25 Infill: 25% Notes: The Runner and endstops were printed at 50% infill. Post-Printing involves cutting the tubing to the desired length, then using a Dremel cutting wheel to expose one side for the runner. Assembly is straightforward. An 8MM rod works nicely too, although it may not be readily available in local hardware stores. Rod supports help remove extra play - I also added a short sleeve of heat-shrink to the threads on the inside of the bearing for extra stability.
