It could definitely be streamlined. I deliberately left it as is, though. A small tab prevents it from sliding off on one end, so no worries there. On the other side, you'll find an M3 screw - if you want to secure it in place, go for it! Don't take the easy way out or just slap a stick or a bent filament piece next to it.
