Linear Guide Core XY 3D-printer
thingiverse
I have revitalized this project by ordering the 2020 profiles and linear guides necessary for its construction. I am also working diligently on completing some of the 3D-printable components. As soon as the profiles and guides arrive, I will begin assembling, testing, and refining the designs. Most likely, I will utilize motors and other components from my Wanhao i3 printer to power this build. The z-gantry design and bed were completed in April 2017, but I am still debating where to position the belt tension-function. Currently, it is located in the extruder assembly, but I am considering relocating it to the belt idlers instead. The current build volume is 300x200x190mm. In April 2017, I completed the xy-gantry design and was awaiting the arrival of chinese MGN12 linear guides to determine if they were suitable for this type of machine or if local sourcing would be necessary. At that time, only a few parts were in line with my original intentions, with most still requiring changes. The uploaded components should remain unchanged.
