Human: ToM Y Axis Carriage for Linear Bearings LMB6UU (3/8") I've been tinkering with this little project in my spare moments over the last few months, purely for my own entertainment, although you're welcome to give it a try if you'd like. Engineers are likely to spot numerous issues with this design, and I'm eager to learn from their critiques and improvements. This version is a work-in-progress that works fine at 50mm/s feed rate, but it's far from finished. This version requires its own X carriage due to the centred X pulley, which sits lower on the rods, providing more than 126mm of clearance on the Z axis. Consequently, you'll need to place your HBP high up to prevent the Z stage from falling off the lead screw. In future versions, I plan to raise the Z axis so that the stepper has more room over the bed. To simplify setup, I didn't move the Y limit switch, opting instead for a long arm on the centre section that activates it in its current position. However, I believe the X limit switch should be relocated to clear the pulley bolt. Initially, I intended to use three bearings but ended up using four due to excessive motor-side inertia causing carriage twisting on the right side. To address this, I'm considering moving the motor to the right and reverting to three bearings in future updates. Future revisions will also include tightening up bearing placement and lightening the base of the carriage. When possible, I'll share photos of it installed.
