ToM Y Axis Carriage for Linear bearings LMB6UU (3/8")\nThis project has been occupying my free time over the last few months, purely for personal enjoyment. You're welcome to give it a try if you wish.\nI'm sure many engineers will point out numerous flaws in this design, and I look forward to their insightful critiques and improvements.\nFor anyone interested in trying this, keep in mind that it's still a work-in-progress, functioning smoothly at 50mm/s feed rate but not yet complete. It requires an X carriage due to the centered X pulley, which results in a lower rod position and allows for > 126mm on the Z axis.\nAs a result, you'll need to position your HBP high enough to prevent the Z stage from falling off the lead screw. In future versions, I plan to design it with more clearance over the bed.\nThe Y limit switch should be moved, but I added a long arm to the center section to avoid any issues in its current position.\nMoving the X limit switch to the side of the carriage would also improve pulley bolt clearance.\nInitially, I used 3 bearings but ended up using 4 due to excessive motor inertia on one side. In future versions, I may move the motor to the right and return to 3 bearings for better stability.\nI intend to move the bearings closer together and reduce material from the base of the carriage to make it lighter in subsequent revisions.\nOnce I have a chance, I'll post photos of this setup installed.
