Linear Bearing X Axis Carriage for ToM
thingiverse
Trying LMB6UU (SW06UU in US) linear bearings as an alternative to bushes on the Y Axis, I found them for £4.50 each and followed a design from thingiverse.com/thing:9114 by splod. The bearings worked so well that I created an X Axis carriage for them. UK residents can purchase them from worldofcnc.com/products.asp?recnumber=167, or find them cheaper on eBay. An update reveals a miscalculation in the end bolt holes of the ABP version, which has been corrected in the FIXED versions of STL and SCAD files. To assemble the carriage, press 7 M3 nuts into captive holes, insert an 8mm M3 bolt in the belt grip, and affix the base with 6 12mm M3 bolts. Insert 3 linear bearings, optionally using zip ties for security. Slide the X Axis belt into place and tighten gently. On the Y Axis, remove bushes, insert bearings up to the groove, replace rod, let bearings bed in, then apply glue for permanence.
