I build a Linear bearing PTFE Teflon Tube for my Y axis. This is what I use instead of the original SC8UU metal bearing. It operates very quietly and slides extremely well. Weighing only 7.6 grams, it's incredibly light. The used PTFE tube has an outer diameter of 4mm and an inner diameter of 2 mm. Secured with a small amount of glue. My first test print was successful. 05/27/2017 I printed the 3dBenchy model using the original SC8UU bearing. (Original_SC8UU) And I also printed it with this linear bearing / PTFE tube. (PTFE_tube_bearing) Both prints were resized to 0.5. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:763622 06/04/2017: I've been testing this for about 20 hours without any issues. 08/08/2017: I added two new versions of this design, one with a 0.3 mm higher version and another with a 0.5 mm higher version.
