Linear Bearing holder IGUS compatible, updated!
pinshape
I've updated this to make it compatible with my IGUS drylin bearings. I've added three more models with different hole sizes to fit, depending on how your printers dimensional accuracy holds up. The 15.25mm model was a good fit for the IGUS bearing, but if it's too tight, the bearing will be crushed and won't slide freely. If you're unsure which size to choose, pick one and print a test piece about 4mm thick to try it out. Make sure it's not too tight or loose by testing it on an 8mm rod first. This linear bearing holder is designed as a direct replacement for the aluminum holder used in many 3D printers. I wanted to use 3D printed LM8UU size linear bearings without having to disassemble the aluminum ones. The bearings should fit snugly, but if necessary, you can file them to fit perfectly. This design is also much lighter than the metal versions, which means less mass to move around. After testing with printed toothed linear bearings, my printer is significantly quieter now. You can find more information about these bearings on Thingiverse: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:18219. Please let me know if you have any suggestions or improvements. I've double-checked that the dimensions are identical to my original aluminum holders.
