See also my super long version of this! http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2783436 I've updated this to make it compatible with my IGUS drylin bearings. Three new models were added, each with different hole sizes designed to fit snugly into the bearing. Printers' dimensional accuracy varies greatly, and the chosen size may be the key to a smooth slide or crushed failure. For instance, I found 15.25mm worked perfectly on the IGUS bearing, but too tight a fit will cause it to pinch rather than slide smoothly. When unsure of the correct hole size, print a small sample with a 4mm thickness and try it out. Remember, it's essential to test your bearings on an 8mm rod before assembly. The design is a direct replacement for aluminium holders commonly found in 3D printers. It allows for seamless use of printed LM8UU linear bearings without requiring disassembly of the aluminium ones. Printed LM8UU size linear bearings fit with just enough force - slightly filing may be necessary. Another bonus: this lightweight bearing is much less massive than its metal counterpart, resulting in a quieter printer after extensive testing. For reference, I've compared dimensions to my original aluminium holder to ensure compatibility.
