Linear Bearing for Airsoft BBs

Linear Bearing for Airsoft BBs

thingiverse

In this project, I redesigned a derivative of http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5830 by creating a printable linear bearing for it. This bearing features three inner racetracks that roll against the inner axle and has an adjustable length to increase stability. For optimal stability similar to reprap-based xy rider designs, you may need at least two of these 35mm or longer bearings on each axis. The design is fully parametric, with samples exported for 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" axes. The .scad file includes additional commented-out sample lines for experimentation. However, the design remains untested, with potential overhang issues in some areas. I've made improvements since the initial upload, fixing previous axle issues and tightening feed tubes. Please be cautious of overhangs during printing and use 6mm bearings (such as airsoft BBs) to fill the raceways. Finally, print the posts and glue them in place for a smooth rolling friction experience over stiction.
