Linear Bearing
thingiverse
This linear-bearing design was inspired by jamesstaylor's on Thingiverse, but as I don't have Inventor, I used my own dimensions while incorporating some improvements. Firstly, I reduced the 6 bearings typically seen in similar designs to enhance stability and minimize parts. Secondly, I opted for 608 bearings due to their commonality and ease of access. Thirdly, I made it compatible with M8 rods, suitable for 3D printers like RepRaps. Due to space constraints with M8 rods and 608 bearings, I sunk the nuts without removing the bearing wall to prevent wobbling. If desired, adjustments can be made for different bearing types or rod sizes. As I don't have a 3D printer, I await pictures of it in action. Don't forget to add a washer between bolt and bearing wall, as well as make it adjustable to account for rod tolerance errors. Please share photos of the working design!
