Linear AeroSpike Motor
grabcad
The Linear AeroSpike motor generates approximately 1MLBS thrust and features an exhaust controlling flap for adjusting ramp profiles in accordance with altitude and chamber pressure. It operates on a combination of gases O2 and liquid RP1, with an exhaust cowl range of +15/-30 degrees. Measuring 6M wide, 1M thick, and nearly 4M long, the motor employs side ramp units for yaw control through the APU's exhaust (with afterburner if necessary). The fourth screenshot depicts the pre-mix unit (a 3D printed component housing the initial mix of fuel and O2), with 198 of these pre-mix units per engine. The AeroSpike design, sourced from http://www.aerorocket.com/MOC/MOC.html, was utilized for the ramp's creation.
