I'm Building a Linear Actuator with the Cheap 28BYJ-48 Stepper Motor for Little Cabinet Doors. The motor and driver combo costs around $1.80 on eBay or AliExpress, making it an affordable option. I control this setup using an Arduino Mini Pro and an ESP8266 module to integrate it into my Smart Home system and enable Alexa compatibility. Here are the dimensions of the bearings: 3x10x4 (623).
