Line adapter for Ozito Blade Trimmer
thingiverse
This is an adapter for Ozito battery trimmers and possibly some Bosch trimmers as well that utilizes a plastic blade for cutting. It allows users to insert a 2.4mm trimmer line, approximately 8cm in length, and employ it for cutting purposes. Simply cut a section of the trimmer line and briefly heat one end with a lighter until a small bulb forms. Next, insert the trimmer line into the adapter and slot that into the trimmer according to normal procedures. Ensure the trimmer line does not exceed a length where it contacts the safety guard. If this occurs, simply trim off any excess using a cutter or scissors. This component is best printed utilizing PETG, a material known for its toughness and flexibility. PLA, on the other hand, is more rigid and prone to breaking easily. Nevertheless, even with PETG, it will still break when encountering a hard object. Considering this requires only 0.5m of material and 15 minutes to print, I usually print a batch of nine at a time at very low cost. The blades sold separately do not break upon impact with a hard object but often dislodge and fly off, resulting in the same outcome albeit at a higher expense. I print this using 100% infill.
