The Lincoln Model L, produced from 1921 to 1930, was the first model of the luxury car brand. With a total production of 64,738 units and prices ranging between $4,600 and $6,600, it was exclusively for the affluent. The Model L featured a V-8 engine comparable in size and price to Cadillac but with a larger, more powerful engine. It boasted a 136-inch wheelbase that could be fitted with custom built coachwork. Under the hood, it housed a 384.8 cubic-inch L-head V8 engine capable of producing 90 horsepower, paired with a three-speed sliding gear transmission and four-wheel mechanical drum brakes. The car reached a top speed of 80 mph with a fuel consumption of 12 miles per gallon. It was created by the Lincoln Motor Company, founded in 1917 by Henry Leland, who later sold it to Ford for eight million dollars in 1922. After Leland's departure, the company was led by Edsel Ford, and Lincoln cars were designed by renowned coachbuilders like Brunn, Judkins, Willoughby, Murphy, and Locke.
