Limit Switch Filament Run Out Sensor
thingiverse
I designed a limit switch case after failing to find one that fit my switches. The switch I use is similar to Maker Bots version found on Thingiverse here http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4971. It worked for two out of three switches, but the third required bending the wheel to function properly. If you experience issues, it might be due to this design flaw. The filament is directional and should exit from the top, as that's where I have my Pi mounted. This case requires PTFE bowden tube inserts in both top and bottom holes for use with a bowden setup, which seems to reduce drag on the filament. However, it binds slightly due to excessive pressure from the switch, so if you find a solution to this issue, please let me know. Seeing people using these cases would be great, so if you do, post pictures!
