Lilypad / Leaf with Cut-out for Kermit the Frog
thingiverse
This is a lilypad remix from a design by Helijin that I enlarged, added holes on the bottom for (optional) stilts, and created cut-outs for the Kermit the Frog model designed by reddadsteve to sit on. The idea behind the stilts is to enable Kermit to sit in a birdbath above the waterline, giving it the appearance of floating on the birdbath from his lilypad. If you don't want to print the stilts, simply omit them and it will sit flat on the pad. I printed both the stilts and the lilypad at 100% infill with a .2mm height setting. You may not need to use 100% infill, but that's what I did, so I can't guarantee the results if you choose a different percentage. The stilts fit snugly into the holes on the bottom (you will need to print three stilts) and can be glued in place for added security. I didn't glue Kermit to the pad because he sits securely in the cut-outs designed for him, but you could certainly do so if you prefer; I choose not to glue him so people can pick him up to admire his details. If you want to adjust the height of the stilts to fit your preferred water level, simply raise or lower the Z axis height in your slicer. With the stilts inserted, the entire pad sits about 50mm high; without stilts, it's approximately 10mm thick. Thanks are due to both Helijin and reddadsteve for their excellent designs, and if anyone makes one of these, I would love to see their prints!
