With all the kids heading back to home schooling due to COVID, I needed to set up a small education area for our daughter. To fit it in our smaller home we went with an IKEA LILLÅSEN desk. I developed this kit to keep her laptop below the desk and maximize her space available. This would pair even better with a wireless keyboard/mouse combo so you can utilize the entire desk surface. For the kit, all of the included accessory items slide over the rails that run under the desktop so some disassembly will be required. Also included are some "spacers." These are required to lift the desktop up off the rails to clear the accessory items and to also keep the desktop level. Parts Required:

Front Laptop Mounts (2 required)

Rear Left and Rear Right Laptop Mounts (1 of each)

End Spacers (2 required) - These go on the TOP of the bar that runs between the legs (front to back)

End Caps (4 required) - These go on top of the leg posts

Cable Hook - However many you want/need

Power Supply Holder - One was enough for me, if you have a large power supply or lots of cables print an extra.

Additional Items:

Velcro strap - Used with the power supply bracket. Accepts up to 1 cm width.

Rubber foot - Used on the back side of the metal brace to keep the outer laptop bracket from sliding away from the laptop. You could use anything that just stops the outer mounts from sliding, I just always seem to have these lying around.

Print Notes:

I used PETG for it's durability and slickness of the surface.

Parts should load in the correct orientation for printing. The orientations were chosen to keep forces off the layer lines and also try to aid in printing ease. I'd recommend not changing the orientations of the parts in your slicer.

I recommend supports for the brackets, you may have luck if you have some good bridging settings

Disclaimer: The desk was not originally designed with these parts in mind and I am not an engineer; although I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express a few times. If you use these parts, the risk is yours and yours alone. The weight bearing capacity of your desk will probably be next to nothing and it may collapse from something as light as a sheet of paper. Expect for it to collapse at the worst possible time. I accept no responsibility for any damage or harm caused by using these items.
