The Giant is a 1999 animated science fiction film using traditional animation and computer-generated imagery, produced by Warner Bros. Feature Animation and directed by Brad Bird in his first-time directorial role. It's based on the 1968 novel The Iron Man by Ted Hughes (published as The Iron Giant in the United States) and was written by Tim McCanlies from a story treatment by Bird.\r\nThe film features the voices of Eli Marienthal, Vin Diesel, Jennifer Aniston, Harry Connick Jr., Christopher McDonald, and John Mahoney. Set during the Cold War era in 1957, The Giant tells the story of Hogarth Hughes, a young boy who discovers and befriends a giant robot that fell from space. With Dean McCoppin's help, they try to prevent the U.S. military and Kent Mansley, a paranoid federal agent, from finding and destroying the robot.\r\nI've always been a fan of The Giant film and book, so I wanted to create my own little Iron Giant on my desk. This model was created from scratch using Fusion 360 software.
