Lightweight Y carriage mount for Pi Camera

Lightweight Y carriage mount for Pi Camera

I wanted to mount the camera on the Y carriage plate below the heated bed on a Wanhao Duplicator i3, and others clones, but everything I tried or looked at seemed really bulky or unstable leading to lots of blurry viewing, so I came up with this adaptation of various bits found here on Thingiverse. I designed a y carriage mounted Raspberry Pi (and others) camera mount and camera case to fit a Wanhao Duplicator i3 which I have running with Octoprint (http://octoprint.org/). The design is based around the heated bed stabilisers from xyzaxis, which work really well, along with an adaptation of dcgrigsby's pi arm mount and the arm mount pi camera case from berky93. The camera support arm should be printed in ABS or PETG to withstand the heat from the heated bed. The holes in the arm are to assist ABS printing rather than reduce weight. To fit this, make sure you loosen all the corner screws otherwise something might get bent while fitting. Choose either left or right files depending on where you want to mount the camera. I recommend using the bed stabilisers from xyzaxis for all four corners (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2036731). The whole thing weighs less than 11 grams. The focus on the Pi camera can be adjusted without having to open the case (Break the lens seal before assembly though). Ideally, use a nylon M3 bolt and nut to fix the camera case on the arm but titanium or steel will do. Feedback is very welcome. I updated the design ends of arms to rest against y carriage rather than tuck under to avoid risk of hitting support frame.
